Square-Root Relations Between Main Saccadic Parameters

چکیده
Methods. A population of horizontal visually guided saccades in a range of amplitudes from 1.5° to 30° was recorded by means of electro-oculography in eight normal adult subjects. The peak velocity-amplitude data of this population were fitted to four models: inverse linear, exponential, power law, and square root. To approximate the duration-amplitude relation, the square root was tested against the linear and power law models. For each model, the bestfit values of its parameters were estimated by the method of least squares.

Square-root relations between main saccadic parameters.
PURPOSE To derive and evaluate two equations in which saccade duration and peak velocity are proportional to the square root of saccade amplitude. METHODS A population of horizontal visually guided saccades in a range of amplitudes from 1.5 degrees to 30 degrees was recorded by means of electro-oculography in eight normal adult subjects. The peak velocity-amplitude data of this population wer...
متن کامل'Saccadic jitter' is a quantitative ocular sign in myasthenia gravis.
PURPOSE To examine the variability of saccadic peak-velocity amplitude relationships in myasthenic and nonmyasthenic ocular palsies. METHODS The authors measured centrifugal saccades in nine patients with myasthenia gravis, nine patients with proven nonmyasthenic ocular palsies, and three normal subjects. Patients made repetitive saccades for 8 minutes. Saccades were analyzed at the start of ...

متن کاملTopology, scaling relations and Leonardo's rule in root systems from African tree species.
Aspects of root architecture, including topology, link length, diameter and scaling relations, were analyzed in excavated coarse root systems of three field-grown fruit tree species (Strychnos cocculoides Bak., Strychnos spinosa Lam. and Vangueria infausta Burch) and the fruit-bearing shrub Grewia flava DC. We investigated the root systems using semi-automatic digitizing and computer-based 3-D ...

Introduction: Presence of external root resorption in second molars associated with impacted mandibular third molars was not rare. The neglect of this issue may leads to penetration of the pulp and loss of the second molars. The aim of this study was to investigate the incidence and risk factors affecting the external root resorption in second molars associated with mandibular impacted third mo...
